Roma director Claudio Fenucci resigned to join Bologna, but the club’s previous owner complains Joe Tacopina “hasn’t paid.”

Serie B side Bologna were on the verge of bankruptcy last month before they were bought out by an American conglomerate led by lawyer Tacopina and including Montreal Impact owner Joey Saputo.

Tacopina had links to Roma and quit that club to take over Bologna, now joined by Fenucci, who announced his resignation from the Giallorossi Board this evening.

“I would like to thank Claudio for his time with us,” said Roma President James Pallotta. “He is a true professional and rightfully has a great reputation in the football industry. We are appreciative of his contributions and wish him good luck with Bologna.‎”

However, today previous Bologna patron Albano Guaraldi claimed Tacopina “did not provide the payment before the agreed deadline of November 15.

“We have not received the payment worth €5,874,200, violating the contract for the sale of Bologna FC 1909.

“Tacopina made statements on this situation that were untruthful, perhaps thinking only of the media coverage he would get.”

Guaraldi said he had no intention of taking back the shares, but would take the matter to court in order to guarantee the financial stability of the club.
