Fenerbahce have officially announced the signing of Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat on loan with an option to buy from Fiorentina

Official: Fenerbahce sign Amrabat from Fiorentina

The Turkish Super Lig side announced that they had reached an agreement with Fiorentina to sign Amrabat on Friday, and have now made the move official on Saturday morning. The transfer window in Turkey remains open until September 13. 

Reports confirm that Jose Mourinho’s side have agreed to pay a  fee of €2m to sign the player on loan for the season, and will have an option to buy him permanently for an additional €13m. 

“We wish our new player a career full of titles in the yellow and blue striped jersey,” Fenerbahce wrote in their announcement. 

Fiorentina were also keen to wish the 29-year-old well in his next chapter. Amrabat started in both of Raffaele Palladino’s first two matches of the Serie A season, and lasted until the end of extra time in the Europa Conference League play-off against Puskas Akademia on Thursday night. 

“Thank you for your professionalism, Sofyan, shown until the 120th minute in your final match with the lily on your chest.” 

Amrabat spent the 2023-24 out on loan from Fiorentina as well, playing 30 matches in all competitions and 21 in the Premier League. He has 85 Serie A appearances to his name from his time with Fiorentina and Hellas Verona
