Fenerbahce make first bid for Roma man Celik

Roma defender Zeki Celik could be heading back to Turkey after Fenerbahce made an opening offer worth €7m.

According to Calciomercato.it, the proposal is a loan with option to buy that becomes an obligation if certain conditions are met during the course of the campaign.

The total cost of the operation would be close to the €7m that Roma spent to sign Celik from Lille just over a year ago.

There would be a loss made, because as part of that agreement, Lille are owed a 15 per cent cut of the sell-on fee.

The 26-year-old spent most of his career in Turkey with Bursaspor and Istanbulspor before the move to France with Lille in 2018.

Celik made 34 competitive appearances in the Roma jersey, contributing one assist.

He has 38 senior caps for Turkey under his belt and is primarily a right-back, but can also play on the right side of midfield.
