Edin Dzeko ends his eight years in Serie A with a free transfer to Fenerbahce after his contract with Inter ran down.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international was in Istanbul this morning to undergo a medical and finalise the details of the salary package, as confirmed by the Turkish team.

Despite starting in the Champions League Final against Manchester City, the 37-year-old was always unlikely to see a new contract offered to stay at San Siro.

Fenerbahce were prepared to give him a two-year deal, said to be worth €4.5m per season net, plus another €1m in performance-related bonuses.

According to Fanatik, Dzeko and his agents will also pocket a €5m signing-on fee.

The former Wolfsburg and Manchester City striker came to Italy for Roma in the summer of 2015 and remained there until his move to Inter in 2021, when he was effectively a replacement for Chelsea-bound Romelu Lukaku.

Between the two clubs, he amassed 107 goals and 50 assists in 268 Serie A appearances.
