Porto defender Felipe credits their “patience” for getting past Roma in extra time and reaching the Champions League quarter-final.
They had lost the first leg 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico, won by the same result at home and Alex Telles converted a penalty in extra time to go through 4-3 on aggregate.
“We wanted to get the qualification done in regular time, but Roma also have a great deal of quality and it was a good match,” Felipe told reporters.

“We knew what we had to do and trusted the Coach had the right strategy. We were too rash in the first leg, but had more patience this time and managed to open up the spaces behind the Roma goal.
“Right now, we just want to enjoy this evening and reaching the quarter-finals, then we’ll see what happens.”
