Federico Fazio is set to leave Roma after agreeing to terminate his contract with the club.

The 34-year-old Argentinian defender was not registered for the match squad by the Giallorossi this season and he was set to leave the club at the end of the season, when his contract expires, but now he will be free to start his new adventure six months early.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Fazio has agreed to mutually terminate his contract with Roma, dropping his lawsuit again the club.

The move makes him free to join Serie A strugglers Salernitana, who believe he would be the perfect player to reinforce their defence. They currently sit bottom of the league table, eight points behind 17th place Venezia.

During his six years in Rome, Fazio made 169 appearances across all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists. Last campaign, he only made six Serie A appearances, all of which came in the second half of the season.
