Inter director general Marco Fassone says replacing Lukas Podolski is the club’s main priority this summer.
The director said earlier today that the Nerazzurri were focusing on improving the attack during the rest of the transfer window, and reiterated those comments in an interview with the club’s official television channel.
“I prefer to talk about facts,” Fassone told Inter Channel.
“Given how volatile the transfer market is, we’re happy with what we’ve done, even though we’re only halfway there.
“We’ve sorted the areas where we were most lacking, now we have to replenish the attacking department.
“The first step is to replace Podolski, then we’ll have to reduce the squad.
“It would have been ideal to have the complete squad by the first day of the pre-season training camp. This year [sporting director Piero] Ausilio did a commendable job in June, but there are still 50 days [of the transfer window] to go.
“There will be several further deals, some in and some out. The President [Erick Thohir] has allowed us to work quickly, given the demands the transfer market has presented us.”
