Cagliari winger Diego Farias has been in talks with “Lazio, but also other clubs,” confirmed his agent.

The Sardinians are on the verge of relegation and Farias is widely expected to move elsewhere next season.

“There has been a lot of interest from Serie A sides,” representative Mariano Grimaldi told LaLazioSiamoNoi.it.

“The lad is doing well and concentrated on the upcoming games, but he certainly does not deserve to be playing in Serie B.

“With all likelihood Cagliari will take up their option and then evaluate the best solution for all concerned.”

The 25-year-old is on loan from Chievo with option to buy, having scored eight goals in 30 games between Serie A and Coppa Italia this season.

He also provided seven assists for his Cagliari teammates.

“It’s true I had contact with Lazio, but also other clubs both in Italy and abroad. At this moment we are just gathering shows of interest.

“Next year he’ll be eligible for an Italian passport and I can say we will give precedence to the Italian transfer market.”
