Juventus have identified the fan who racially abused Mike Maignan during the match against Milan and the person has been thrown out of the fan club where he was a member.

The Bianconeri fan who insulted Maignan during the warm-up ahead of Juventus vs. Milan last weekend has been identified by the police.

The fan was reported and identified thanks to the cameras at the Allianz Stadium. Following the news, the fan club the person in question belonged to announced the expulsion of the member ‘with immediate effect’.

  1. Not “problem solved” unfortunately. Dealing with one fan will set an example but the core is still rotten.

  2. Not enough. Lifetime stadium ban and a heavy monetary fine.
FIGC need to set an example for others to not follow in his footsteps.
Got to kick this stuff out of football.
Racism has absolutely no place here.

  3. So thrown out of a fan club only? Is that a joke?

Yet again the FA, FIGC and the club just don’t seem to have the balls to throw the book at such people (note that i did not use the word “fans”) when it comes to such behaviour!

An absolutely farcical and petty punishment!

To the numerous bodies who are running the game at this level, grow a set and hand down REAL punishment prudent to the situation. Set an example that this cannot be tolerated any longer dammit!

  4. Agree with above comments, except I’d advocate permanent ban from all stadiums, not just where the incident occurred. Thrown out of the fan club is just a superficial move. If the powers that be want to show they have a zero tolerance policy against racism, then have the gumption to do something meaningful.

  5. Agreed, throwing him out of the fan club is barely a punishment. He should be banned for a period of time from all football matches – not indefinitely, as that assumes people never change, but long enough (years) so as to mean something.

Not sure how I feel about punishing the club. The club isn’t to blame, yet punishing the club might make them do something about it – what, I don’t know.

  6. Surely there should be another paragraph at the end of this article, saying the relevant authorities are investigating the “fan” on criminal charges, and Juventus have banned him from the stadium? Surely.

  7. Too many of you getting your knickers in a twist too quickly. he has been banned by multiple fan group clubs as well as from the stadium. Actual justice served. all the while in England, the man who went to court and admitted to racially abusing the black English players just had a deduction from his benefits. And still waiting to hear of the punishment for the guy who hurled sectarian abuse at John mcginn last week. 🤦🏻‍♂️
