Martin Guastadisegno, the agent of Juventus owned talent Facundo Gonzalez, hit out at Sampdoria for failing to respect their promises regarding his playing time.
The 20-year-old Uruguayan centre back joined Juventus from Valencia in the summer in a deal worth up to €3m. A highly rated youngster, he was sent to Andrea Pirlo’s Sampdoria to gain first team experience before being given a chance in Turin.
Unfortunately for Gonzalez, things haven’t exactly gone to plan. The 20-year-old has only seen four minutes of action in the opening seven games of the season, making a brief cameo appearance against Parma.
Speaking to TMW, Guastadisegno expressed his frustration with Gonzalez’s lack of playing time with Sampdoria.
“I’m very worried because Sampdoria didn’t do what they promised. We had many teams in Serie A that wanted him, Sampdoria called us 50 times saying they wanted him to play and I’m really disappointed because I don’t like being told one thing and then something else happening.
“I respect all the players, but I believe that Facundo deserves to play. Let’s see what happens, Sampdoria were a choice made by speaking with the coach, with the director, and they promised him to play.
“I’m very keen and I want to see what will happen. Even Juventus are surprised, they expected a different amount of playing time.”
He also made it clear that his client would leave the Blucerchiati in January should things not change.
“Of course, 100% Juventus won’t want him to stay there. I don’t understand why they asked for a player so insistently and don’t let him play. I spoke to Sampdoria ten days ago, they told me he’s young and will play.
“But if it continues like this, he will come back to Juventus in December or maybe go elsewhere. I’m angry at the way things are going.”
Gonzalez attracted attention in the summer after impressing with Uruguay at the U-20 World Cup, where he played every available minute on the route to the title.
