Gianfelice Facchetti, son of Inter legend Giacinto, has urged Nerazzurri fans to ‘wait’ for Hakan Calhanoglu to deliver on his potential.
The Turkey international left Milan as a free agent and went across the city to their bitter rivals Inter.
After a strong opening game, Calhanoglu has gradually fallen by the wayside with performances that verged on the anonymous.
“I think there were a lot of expectations and he made a courageous step by refusing to renew with Milan and going to Inter,” Facchetti told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Maybe he needs to get settled in a bit more, but I don’t think he’s been totally lacking. I’d give him time and not get distracted by rumours.”
Inter are the reigning Serie A title holders and currently face a battle with Napoli and Milan at the top.
“It’s too early to say what the Scudetto race will be like, as Napoli are certainly strong and started well, while Juve have a good squad and Jose Mourinho can do wonders at Roma.”
Still waiting to see ? Why would Inter cave to his unreasonable $ demands . He is 1 M 2 M max salary player .
Waiting for a 5M per season player…at least Inter doesn`t have economic nor financial problems, wait
Hate to say I told you so…
Yeah wait 5 years maybe something happens, cause we waited 4 years and nothing happened.
He is an average player that had one good season and he is successfully cashed in on it!
Good luck
Hahaha you will wait eternally for it, because it’s not there. This guy will have a few amazing games and the rest are below average always.
He is inconsistent to begin with
Inter fans thought they got a steal when he made a great impact on his debut with them, but I said to wait and see how he performed across the season instead, as he has some good games and other times is completely anonymous. Well so far, he’s consistent in continuing his Milan form for his new club. I’m so much happier with Diaz in his place, someone who actually gives his all in every game, is more talented, and makes things happen. So I’m glad he left, and Inter can wait for him as long as they want, all the whole paying him 5 mil a year.
