Cesc Fabregas will wear the captain’s armband in his first start for Como in their Serie B clash against SPAL.
The 35-year-old Spanish veteran joined the Serie B outfit on a two-year deal in the summer, keen to wind down his career on the shores of the idyllic lake in Lombardy. The former Arsenal and Chelsea star has made two appearances off the bench for Como since his arrival and he’s finally ready to line up in the starting 11.
As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Fabregas will captain the Como squad for their Serie B match against SPAL today, giving him his first full taste of action in Italy. The second tier side have not picked up a win yet this season, so the Spaniard will be hoping to right the ship at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
Gunners legend Thierry Henry is also involved in the project at Como, becoming a shareholder of the Serie B side.
