Liverpool midfielder Fabinho believes Inter have been the best team in Italy in the last two or three years and admits the Nerazzurri played better football than the Reds in the first half at the Stadio Meazza three weeks ago.

The Serie A champions visit Liverpool at Anfield Road tomorrow night and will be looking to bounce back after a 2-0 loss in Milan in February. Simone Inzaghi’s men returned to winning ways in Serie A on Friday by beating last-placed Salernitana 5-0. They hadn’t scored in the last four games across all competition and had collected just two points in the previous four Serie A matches.

They sit second in the Serie A table, two points short of leaders Milan, but with a game in hand.

Klopp warns Inter, but insists they ‘don’t come to Liverpool as tourists’

During his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp said that the Nerazzurri wouldn’t go to Liverpool as tourists, warning his players about the qualities of Simone Inzaghi’s men. At the same time, Fabinho also seems to be aware of Inter’s strengths.

“For me, they are the best Italian side the last two or three years,” the midfielder added.

“They play really good football. In the first half of the first leg, they played the better but we were more ready in front of the goal. A big team has to win games like that, score the chances you have.

“We have to make sure we don’t give them any confidence and try to kill the game as quickly as possible.”
