AS claimed on Monday that Madrid were ready to negotiate a potential transfer for Fabian.

However, the newspaper has since backtracked, explaining that the Spain Under-21 midfielder feels ‘comfortable’ at the San Paolo.

In turn, the Partenopei would have deliberately not included a release clause in his contract when they signed him from Real Betis last this summer.

Nonetheless, AS warns Los Blancos are not giving up as they recently contacted the agency that represents him – You First Sports.

Furthermore, it is ‘inevitable’ that they will mention the 23-year-old during talks with Napoli for James Rodriguez.

In the meantime, he told Onda Cero: “Right now I’m only thinking about the Euros and our game on Thursday so we can be in a European Final.

“Ancelotti’s a Coach who gives you confidence, makes you feel important and is very close to his players.

“He’s a very calm Coach, but when he gets angry… He’s a spectacular man. At Napoli I’ve put together a personalised training programme to gain muscle mass and it’s been very good.”
