Fabian Ruiz has reportedly rejected Napoli‘s latest contract extension offer, but the Partenopei won’t sell him for less than €30m.

The Spain international’s contract runs out in June 2023 and according to Corriere dello Sport, Gazzetta and Calciomercato.com, he has rejected the latest offer made by the club, which included a €30m release clause.

That’s exactly the price tag set on the former Betis man who dreams of returning to Spain. However, no offer from La Liga has arrived yet, while the main Italian media report that Arsenal, Manchester United, City and Newcastle are interested in the 26-year-old.

Tension between Fabian, Napoli and Man City, what’s going on?

Napoli still haven’t received any offer from the Premier League and Pep Guardiola’s side are reportedly unwilling to discuss with the Partenopei after Jorginho’s failed transfer to the Etihad Stadium in 2018.

Napoli are ready to freeze Fabian out of the club in the first part of the campaign if he refuses to sign a new contract or leave the club as soon as an offer arrives.

The Spain international has just completed one of his best seasons in Serie A with seven goals and four assists in 32 league matches.

  1. Fabian has some great goals every season, but all too often when he is playing it looks like he is just there to be there. He isn’t all that productive, but at the same time he’s not making costly mistakes. Napoli should sell him to one of the top teams in La Liga, but that also leaves them with a big hole in the middle as the only midfielders who can score are Ruiz, Mertens, and Zieliński and all three might be gone next season.
