Former Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz reveals Italy international Marco Verratti gave him crucial help to settle in at PSG following his summer move.

The Spain international signed with the Ligue 1 giants in the summer after refusing to extend with Napoli, who had frozen him out of the team. He joined PSG on a €23m deal, signing a contract until June 2027.

Fabian has met several Serie A stars in Paris, including Gigio Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi, but Italy international Verratti has been among those helping him the most since his move to Paris.

“He is s a player I knew, everyone knows him. He helped me a lot at the beginning, he speaks Italian and it’s easy to play with one like Marco,” Fabian said at a press conference.

“It’s easy to play with the best and he is among them.”

PSG are in the same group as Juventus and will qualify for the Champions League Round of 16 if they beat Maccabi Haifa at home tomorrow.

The Ligue 1 giants won 3-1 in the reverse fixture in Israel last month.

“We saw a quick team who likes to push forward. It was a tough match, but tomorrow we need great intensity because we need these three points.”

Juventus will face Benfica away tomorrow and only a win would help Max Allegri’s men keep their qualification hopes alive.
