Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz apologised to Sampdoria fans who felt his goal celebration was insulting. ‘It was for a friend of mine.’
The Spain international got the second goal at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris this evening, after a Victor Osimhen opener.
He turned to the crowd and made a gesture with his hand to say ‘blah blah blah’, before he was swamped by the embraces of his teammates.
Speaking to DAZN at half-time, Fabian Ruiz was asked about the celebration.
“I apologise if any Sampdoria fans thought it was insulting, but it was not aimed at them. It was for a friend of mine.
“He always tells me people talk too much, so I did that. It was not meant to insult anyone.”

Mi dice sempre che si parla tanto, allora ho fatto così. Non è stata per loro ma per un mio amico“ https://t.co/JUQi6ewEL4
