Nico Gonzalez attracted attention from Leicester City and Brentford last year and transfer market expert Matteo Moretto expects the Fiorentina star to be of high interest again this summer.

The 25-year-old Argentinian winger has continued to shine under Vincenzo Italiano this term, netting 10 goals and providing two assists in 26 matches across Serie A and the Conference League, being one of the most important players in the Viola squad.

Leicester City and Brentford both registered their interest in Gonzalez last summer and the latter submitted multiple offers for the Argentine winger, but their proposal worth circa €42-43m was clearly rejected by Fiorentina, who didn’t want to lose their star man.

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on the future of Gonzalez at Fiorentina via Caught Offside.

Whilst no offers have arrived for the 25-year-old yet, the expectation is that he’ll be one of the most interesting players in the Viola squad when the summer transfer window opens later this year.

His current contract in Florence lasts until June 2028, having penned a new deal with the club back in September following last summer’s interest.
