Exor have officially ruled out rumours of a possible sale of Juventus after Il Giornale reported the Bianconeri owners were looking for buyers.
Juventus’ holding company Exor denied with an official statement on Monday morning that the Serie A giants are up for sale.
The official statement was published hours after a report of Il Giornale had claimed Exor’s CEO John Elkann was looking for buyers interested in acquiring a majority stake of the club for at least €1.5 billion.
“The hypothesis reported by a newspaper regarding the sale of Juventus is totally groundless,” Exor said in an official statement, as quoted by Tuttosport.
It is not the first time that have Exor denied reports of a possible sale of the club. The same happened this past May when Reuters reported the Bianconeri owners were looking for a potential minority shareholder.
The Agnelli family has been running Juventus for 100 years. John Elkann is the nephew of legendary Bianconeri President Gianni Agnelli, who remained in charge from 1947 to 1954.
Andrea Agnelli, John’s cousin, resigned as the club’s President in November 2022 following a criminal and sporting investigation into Juventus’ finances.
