The Nerazzurri are preparing to replace Filippo Inzaghi, who is set to sign for Palermo in Serie B after securing promotion to Italy’s top flight with Pisa in 2024-25.

The former Genoa coach and 2006 World Cup winner for Italy was also sounded out by Parma in recent days. The Ducali are also working to find a new coach as Cristian Chivu confirmed his exit on Monday, before his appointment as Inter’s coach.

Gilardino is one of the candidates for the Pisa job, but not the only one.

The newly promoted Serie A side, in fact, have also been offered ex-Milan midfielder Van Bommel and directors will make their assessments in the coming hours.
