Inter have every intention of rewarding Lautaro Martinez with a lucrative contract, reflective of his star status in the squad, transfer market expert Matteo Moretto details.

The 26-year-old Argentinian striker, who fatefully missed the final spot kick in the recent penalty shootout loss to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16, has a little over two years left on his current contract with the Nerazzurri, prompting the club to start working on a new deal.

Alejandro Camano, the agent of Lautaro Martinez, was recently spotted outside the hotel in Madrid where Inter were staying during their away trip to Atletico. He met with sporting director Piero Ausilio, discussing a new contract for his client.

Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on Inter’s negotiations with Lautaro Martinez via Caught Offside.

The meeting between Camano and Inter in Madrid this week was more of a matter of convenience than a decisive meeting, with the agent already having business in the Spanish capital, but regardless the talks were positive.

Lautaro Martinez wants to stay with Inter and the club are keen to reward his impressive work, willing to make him the highest paid player in the squad to reflect his star status.

Whilst no details have been finalised yet, both parties are on the same page and are keen to move forward together.
