Juventus are still looking for the ‘ideal profile’ to strengthen their midfield in January but are unlikely to sign former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, says transfer pundit Matteo Moretto.

The Serie A giants have been linked with a number of central midfielders in the 2024 winter transfer window following the suspensions of Paul Pogba and Nicolò Fagioli.

Former Liverpool captain Henderson, currently contracted with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq had emerged as a potential transfer target for the Bianconeri this month, but they are unlikely to finalise a deal for the 33-year-old.

Italian transfer pundit Matteo Moretto has told Caught offside that it will be “very, very difficult” for Juventus to get the deal done as the Bianconeri are “looking at other names.”

The La Liga and Serie A insider adds that Juventus are looking for a central midfielder who can fit Massimiliano Allegri’s tactics and can be financially affordable for the club.

Udinese star Lazar Samardzic is a player they’ve been in talks with, but Juventus have not yet made an official offer to the Zebrette.

Moretto confirms Juventus have spoken to Udinese, but they are ideally planning to set up a deal for June and not in the current transfer window.
