Brentford have submitted an improved bid for Fiorentina winger Nico Gonzalez, but neither the Tuscans nor their player are willing to negotiate with the Premier League side, sources tell Football Italia.

Fabrizio Romano has broken the news that Brentford have made an improved bid for Fiorentina star winger Nico Gonzalez.

It’s an offer exceeding €40m including add-ons, but the Tuscans don’t want to part ways with the Argentinean with only nine days remaining before the end of the summer transfer window.

Likewise, Nico is not pushing to join Brentford and has not reached any agreement with the Premier League club, sources close to the player tell Football Italia.

The situation may change if a bigger Premier League club knock on Fiorentina’s door, but they will need an even higher offer to persuade the Tuscans to part ways with one of the best players in their team.

Nico had snubbed an offer from Leicester City this past January and scored on his 2023-24 Serie A debut in a 4-1 away win against Genoa on Saturday.
