Ex-Roma director Gianluca Petrachi, a close friend of Antonio Conte, predicts the ex-Juventus and Inter coach will return to the Premier League.

Conte is without a club since leaving Tottenham by mutual agreement in March 2023. He’s been linked with Milan and Napoli in Serie A, but growing reports suggest another foreign club will appoint him in 2024-25.

Bild reported last week that Conte’s dream club is Bayern Munich.

Petrachi, a close friend and a former teammate of Conte at Lecce, believes the Italian tactician will return to the Premier League in the summer.

“Conte is a very ambitious person and before picking the next club, he will analyse every detail,” he told TV Play, as quoted by TMW.

“I think he will return to the Premier League because, in Italy, there are too many talks and not enough football. Of course, Italy would be a priority if there was an important project, but right now, I can’t see a Serie A club that can get Conte.”

Conte hasn’t only won four Serie A titles as a coach, three at Juventus and one at Inter, but also became Premier League champion in his first season at Chelsea and won the FA Cup in his second and final campaign at Stamford Bridge.

At the same time, Petrachi has been linked with Napoli who replaced Cristiano Giuntoli with Mauro Meluso last summer.

“Napoli are an important club and what they’ve done over the last few seasons is extraordinary,” admitted the Italian director.

“They have always performed at the highest levels in Italy and in Europe. I have a big motivation to join a club like this, but obviously, it is not up to me.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis must act as the president and, at the same time, he must allow a director to work, that’s how it works in any other business. I’ve always thought Aurelio is a visionary, but he was the first one to admit that some errors have been made this season.”
