According to reports, Napoli patron Aurelio De Laurentiis could sell Bari to former Roma President Jim Pallotta if they gain promotion to Serie A this summer.

The current rules do not allow one person, family or company from owning two clubs in the same Italian division.

Claudio Lotito was already forced to sell Salernitana last season, because he was already at the helm of Lazio, and a similar situation could develop at Bari.

De Laurentiis built the club back up after bankruptcy and they are in the running for promotion to Serie A this summer.

If that happens, the Napoli chief will have to find a new buyer for Bari and Milano Finanza report the first candidate has already stepped forward.

It is Pallotta, the Italian-American most famous in the Peninsula for his time at the helm of Roma from 2012 to 2020.

That time was largely characterised by his failed attempts to build a new stadium and leave the Stadio Olimpico.
