Former Juventus and Livorno player Giuseppe Rizza is in a coma after suffering a brain haemorrhage at the age of 33.

His playing career is still going at semi-pro team Rinascita Netina, as after playing in the Juve youth academy until 2008, he went on to Livorno, Juve Stabia and Nocerina, among others.

According to reports, he suffered a brain haemorrhage on June 5 and is in an induced coma at the Cannizzaro hospital in Catania.

Rizza received many messages of encouragement from former teammates Claudio Marchisio, Sebastian Giovinco, Fabio Pisacane and Domenico Criscito.

During his time at Juventus, Rizza won the Primavera Supercoppa in 2006.
