Former Inter President Massimo Moratti is in hospital after undergoing a heart procedure and is said to be in stable condition.
According to various sources, Moratti underwent angioplasty to clear clogged arteries and it had been a scheduled procedure, usually performed under only a local anaesthetic.
He is in the Galeazzi Hospital in Milan, where his condition is stable and under observation.
The 78-year-old was the President of the club from 1995 to 2004, then again from 2006 to 2013, including the period when they won the Treble of Scudetto, Champions League and Coppa Italia in 2009-10.
During his tenure, the Nerazzurri won five Serie A titles, four editions of the Coppa Italia, four Supercoppa Italiana trophies, the Champions League, UEFA Cup and Club World Cup.
His father Angelo had also been President of Inter from 1955 to 1968.
