Former Juventus defender and Paul Pogba’s compatriot Patrice Evra believes the chances to see the midfielder in a Bianconeri shirt again are extremely slight, as he encourages his former teammate to ‘turn the page’.

Pogba’s four-year ban due to a failed doping test was officially reduced to just 18 months on Friday, meaning he could return to play competitive football with Juventus in March 2025, as he still has a contract running with the club.

Evra and Pogba are close friends, having played together at Manchester United and Juventus, as well as for France national team, and the former left-back is ‘99%’ sure that the midfielder won’t play for the Old Lady again when his suspension ends, also suggesting a possible destination for him.

Evra ‘99%’ sure Pogba won’t stay at Juventus

“I think that 99% we won’t see Paul in the Juventus colours again. He needs to turn the page,” he told French podcast Rothen s’enflamme.

But Evra also went on to add a more precise hint about Pogba’s future, as he revealed he wants to ‘call’ Medhi Benatia, who is currently the sporting director of Olympique Marseille.

“I’m going to call Mehdi Benatia to give him [Pogba] a phone call, because the doors are open,” Evra added.

Marseille, who are coached by Italian technician Roberto De Zerbi, also signed Pogba’s compatriot Adrien Rabiot as a free agent in mid-September.
