Evra: ‘Players go to Man Utd and PSG for money, but love Juventus’

Patrice Evra explains why Dusan Vlahovic rejected all other offers so he could join Juventus. ‘Players go to Manchester United and PSG for the money. Vlahovic loved Juventus before coming here.’

Evra is working as a pitch-side pundit for Amazon Prime Italia’s Champions League coverage as Juventus host Villarreal in the Round of 16.

He was standing with Claudio Marchisio and Clarence Seedorf during the warm-up and discussed the fact Vlahovic turned down more lucrative proposals from the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur so he could push through the transfer from Fiorentina to Juventus.

“Players go to Manchester United for the money, not for the history. They go to PSG for the money and to live in a beautiful city,” Evra said on Amazon Prime Italia.

“This is why I hope to God Juventus maintain this mentality and the draw they have. Players like Vlahovic and Locatelli, they loved Juventus even before coming here. That is what they need to keep at this club.

“Money is ruining everything in football.”

Evra has experienced all of those, as he was in the PSG youth academy, played at Manchester United from 2006 to 2014, then wore the Juventus jersey until 2017.
