Everton have reportedly revived their long-standing interest in Udinese striker Beto, but are still no closer to agreeing a deal.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Relevo, the Toffees have presented an initial package including add-ons that will reach €26m for the centre-forward.

He had already been on their wish-list in January and a dismal start to the Premier League season has seen them come back to this target.

There is a €35m release clause in Beto’s contract and Udinese have already resisted approaches from Inter and Roma so far this summer.

The 25-year-old Portuguese forward is under contract at the Dacia Arena until June 2026 and was purchased from Portimonense in 2021 for €7m.

However, as part of that agreement, Udinese owe the Portuguese side 50 per cent of the sell-on fee, so are certainly not eager to drop their asking price.

Last season he contributed 10 goals in 33 Serie A appearances, while so far this term he has scored one and assisted another in two games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
