Having refused to part with Merih Demiral last summer, Juventus are reportedly now open to offers, with Everton first in line.

The Turkey international had already been linked with numerous Premier League clubs eight months ago, but Juve were not prepared to listen to any bids.

They paid €18m to sign the centre-back from Sassuolo in July 2019 and he only just turned 23 last month, so was considered a prospect for the future.

However, with financial problems growing and a series of injuries limiting him to 23 competitive appearances this season, Demiral’s situation has changed.

According to Calciomercato.com, Everton are the absolute favourites and never stopped working behind the scenes on Demiral.

Carlo Ancelotti’s club are ready to give him at least €3m per season wages, considerably more than the current €1.8m he is on in Turin.

The transfer bid would be worth €25-30m, approaching the €35-40m asking price.

Everton are eager to get a deal done before Euro 2020, fearing Demiral’s profile could rise again after Turkey play in that tournament.
