Everton failed to pry Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United this summer but they’ve not given up on the Italian talent yet, reports highlight.

The 19-year-old forward joined the Whites from FC Zurich last year and showed a number of positives in his debut campaign in England, scoring two goals and providing four assists across 24 Premier League appearances.

Everton were incredibly keen to sign Gnonto in the summer following Leeds’ relegation and had a number of offers rejected. The teenager seemingly tried to force his way out of the club but a move never materialised and he was reintegrated into the squad after a two-game exclusion.

As reported by Football Insider, Everton are still actively interested in signing Gnonto and are gearing up to make a move in the near-future, hoping the teenager can help them start climbing up the Premier League table.

In the meantime, the Whites are hoping to tie down the Italian winger to a new contract, despite the fact that his current deal expires in 2027. The idea is to increase his salary and convince him of the project in the Yorkshire city.
