Napoli and Premier League side Everton are reportedly close to reaching an agreement over a deal for Partenopei attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrom, just under a year on from the Dane’s arrival in Naples.

Napoli and Everton agree deal for Lindstrom

The 24-year-old is expected to depart the Stadio Maradona on an initial loan deal at a cost of €3m, with a right-to-buy clause included for a further €22m, bringing the total cost of the operation up to €25m if the move is made permanent.

Lindstrom has a medical scheduled with Everton within the next couple of hours on Tuesday evening, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Denmark international impressed during his time in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt, playing an important role in their run to the Europa League trophy in 2021-22.

The following summer, Napoli pounced and agreed a fee reported to be worth €30m with bonuses and add-ons included.

However, after a turbulent season in Naples, which saw three different coaches appointed in Rudi Garcia, Walter Mazzarri and Francesco Calzona, Lindstrom found it difficult to cement a place in Napoli’s starting line-up.

In other Napoli transfer news, centre-back Leo Ostigard is reportedly set to join Ligue 1 side Rennes on a permanent deal, believed to be worth €7m in total.
