According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marco Guida and Davide Massa will be suspended for at least three games while former Serie A referee Paolo Casarin says that ‘even a two-year child’ would have spotted the penalty for Torino against Inter.

The Nerazzurri rescued one point against the Granata thanks to a late goal of Alexis Sanchez, but Torino were furious for a missed penalty kick call in the first half when they were already leading 1-0.

Referee Guida didn’t award the penalty kick and didn’t even have an on-field review, which is why both he and VAR referee Davide Massa will likely be suspended for at least three games.

Watch: Torino denied clear penalty against Inter

Italian sports papers have all highlighted the mistake from the match officials with Turin-based paper Tuttosport that even rated Guida 0/10.

Former Serie A referee Casarin was quite harsh on both referees, saying that “‘Even a two-year child would have seen that penalty.

“You don’t need to be an international referee to see that,” he continued.

“The referee also has problems because he sees everything live. But VAR must give him a chance to see the incident again. VAR can’t be put aside and remain quiet. That’s the failure of the system. Actions must be taken when the pitch referee takes a wrong decision and the other one doesn’t intervene.

“I’d ask Rocchi to listen to the conversation between the referee and VAR. Ranocchia’s foul on Belotti is clear and evident.”

  1. Well China has a habit of paying bribes to politicians. So this is nothing new. They are just doing the same now in Serie A.

  2. 3 games ban for the ref and VAR officials should get at least 5 games. There is a reason why Italian football is falling so far behind. Corruption and incompetence from the city level (stadium permits) all the way to match day referees.

  3. The damage has already been done, just like when Milan were screwed by the ref when they played Spezia. These 2 clowns are supposed to be amongst the so called best in Italy. They are only the best that Inter can buy for sure and heaven forbid what the other refs must be like. Anyways Italy is a joke and no wonder why the league is so poor. Before VAR I remember the Muntari ghost goal so Juventus fans must not rush to condemn. Now with VAR it works but only for Inter and Marotta. The fact that they did not even check the VAR and it took so long was most likely because Marotta and Moratti must have been busy on that phone call to the control room.

  4. @Stevie

Inform yourself, Moratti hasn’t been in Inter‘s management in years. And Inter have had several calls against them but obviously you just spout hateful baseless nonsense.

  5. @Mikkel Bostrøm

What about the grave mistakes that gifted Milan 3 undeserved points at Venezia? Or the grave mistakes that gifted Milan 6 points against Roma? In fact Milan needed ref help to beat Inter, otherwise they would have lost as usual.

  6. Shut up Francesco you fool there is nothing baseless about VAR seeing as it has ruined the game and holds up the game too long. Before VAR you had ghost goals and dodgy offsides, but now you have clear bias as that was a penalty all day long and not even checked. Also I was being sarcastic about Moratti but seeing as people like you (EU) have no sense of humour I am not surprised. No wonder your comedy sucks.

  7. @Antonio

Ahhahahahha stop trolling you’re too much, you made me burst in to laughter again and spill my coffee. Take it like a man, don’t come up with stupid nonsense. Inter is getting help in Italy, they get the calls. That’s just it. They were falling down and the ONLY WAY to help them against Torino was to not give that Pent its CRYSTAL clear.

  8. @ Antonio

Milan needed ref help to beat Inter, otherwise they would have lost as usual.”

LMAO your mighty Inter are winless in three consecutive matches against Milan! Lost as usual … hahahahaha take your medicine 😂

  9. Even Ray Charles could have seen that missed call !!

that is not a missed call, that was blatantly ignored!!!!!! now was he under orders to ignore it? was he too busy watching friends or did he put money on Inter to tie ? either way the league needs to hire from outside the country to do VAR because that blatantly ignored call is pathetic

  10. @Milan fan

I guess you weren’t following football when Icardi, Lukaku et all were tormenting your team. In the last 10 derbies in Serie A, Milan won 2. Inter won 6. Just informing you as you lack football knowledge, evidently.

  11. Det var helt klart på reprisene at det var 100 % brudd, bare dommeren så ikke eller ville ikke se. Bare partisk dømming fra hele dommerteamet til fordel for Inter.
    Korrupsjon!

  12. @Francesco So more whataboutism then? Are you saying that there’s a problem with dodgy refereeing or that it’s a problem that the dodgy refereeing doesn’t favour Inter? Intertristi are hypocritical to the core. And even this year, you’ll win nothing…now that a Juventino isn’t in charge to help you have a winning mentality.

  13. @Bukruqul

I guess Mourinho is a juventino then because with him Inter won the Treble. Lol. I am saying that refs make mistakes both ways, funny to see Inter haters making a big deal out of yesterday when decisions from the same ref harmed Inter before

  14. Oh we already won a trophy this year, Bukruqul

Remember Sanchez 120th minute winner in Supercoppa? And we didn’t have a juventino as coach either lol… anyhow this argument is funny, your coach Allegri was a Milanista after all. And Pioli was Inter coach, so what…

  15. Nothing as sweet as milan beat inter 6-0 in 2000/2001, and milan beat juve in the 2003 champions league final (after get rid off inter in the semifinal of course).
Please tell me just one to top that?
Even after we lost to liverpool in disastrous 2005 champions league final on Istanbul, we manage to get square with them two years later in Athens with Pippo doppietta.

am I live in the past for binging up these?
    Why not?
inter & juve fans also always blabbing about their team in the past.

  16. @sith lord How about winning a treble after beating the champs of England, the champs of Germany, the champs of Spain, the champs of Europe and the champs of the world?
