Tammy Abraham is expected to start for Roma against La Liga side Real Sociedad in the second leg of the Europa League Round of 16.

It kicks off at 20.00 GMT on Thursday.

The Giallorossi won the first leg 2-0 in Rome last week. They have travelled to Spain without the injured Diego Llorente and Ebrima Darboe, but both Andrea Belotti and Lorenzo Pellegrini are back.

The midfielder suffered a head injury in the reverse fixture last week and will play with a protective helmet after receiving 30 stitches.

Stephan El Shaarawy is not expected to start, although the Italy international is an option for the left wing and in attack, where Pellegrini remains favourite.

Abraham will get the nod up front but the Englishman hasn’t scored a goal in the last four Europa League matches, while Paulo Dybala has contributed to four goals in six games in the competition this term, but all at the Stadio Olimpico.

Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante are back in the starting XI. The Italian defender rested against Sassuolo on Sunday, while the midfielder was suspended.

Real Sociedad side must cope without Aritz Elustondo and former Roma striker Umar Sadiq.
