Milan kick off their Europa League campaign with a tough clash against an in-form Rennes in their knockout play-off tie.

The match between the Rossoneri and the French side kicks off at 20.00 UK time at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.

Milan dropped down to the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group, three points behind Borussia Dortmund and tied on points with Paris Saint-Germain, who had better goal difference and head-to-head.

Rennes finished second in their Europa League group, just a point behind Villarreal. In Ligue 1, Les Rouge et Noirs started the season slowly but have hit their stride lately, winning their last five consecutive games.

The Rossoneri are without Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu, Davide Calabria and Tommaso Pobega, all of whom are out injured. Rennes can’t count on the injured Enzo Le Fée and Fabian Rieder.

Considering their exit from the Champions League, the pressure is on Milan to put together a strong campaign in the Europa League.

Probable line-ups for Milan vs Rennes

Milan (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Florenzi, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Reijnders, Musah; Pulisic, Loftus-Cheek, Leao; Giroud.

Rennes (4-4-2): Mandanda; G. Doue, Wooh, Theate, Truffert; Bourigeaud, Matusiwa, Santamaria, D. Doue; Terrier, Kalimuendo.
