Alvaro Morata lifted the EURO 2024 trophy into the sky for Spain today, but on Tuesday he is expected to undergo a medical for the transfer to Milan. ‘We’ll see.’

The striker turns 32 in October and was the captain of the squad that beat England 2-1 in the Final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin this evening.

Speaking to RAI Sport after the match, he was asked if he would be in Italy next season.

“Let me enjoy this trophy first, then I’ll go on vacation with my family. We’ll see.”

He is widely expected to leave Atletico Madrid this summer, especially as he has a release clause set at €13m for clubs outside of Spain.

While Juventus and Al-Qadsiah FC had shown interest, multiple sources are confident Morata has given his word to join Milan.

Morata ready for Milan medical

He is set to sign a four-year contract worth €5.5m per season and was convinced to make the move by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Curiously, Ibrahimovic and Milan director Geoffrey Moncada were in the stands in Berlin to watch Morata lift the trophy.

According to Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport, Calciomercato.com and more, the medical has been booked in Madrid on Tuesday.

It might have to be moved, depending on when Spain are having their celebrations for winning the EURO 2024 tournament.
