Luciano Spalletti will hold a press conference at Coverciano today and may announce the final 26-man squad list for Euro 2024, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The Azzurri have returned to Coverciano after a 0-0 draw against Turkey on Tuesday, and the players who were not involved in the latest international friendly will be tested today against Italy U20 at Italy’s training centre on the outskirts of Florence.
The match was initially meant to be played at 17:00 CET, but according to Sky Sport Italia, it will begin in less than one hour, at around 15:45. After that, Spalletti will talk to the media again at a press conference.
Euro 2024: Spalletti could announce Italy squad today
The Azzurri CT was not expected to talk today, so Sky Sport suggests he may have already decided on the final 26-man squad list and could announce the three players cut today.
There are 29 players currently training at Coverciano, so three of them won’t be travelling to Germany for Euro 2024 next week.
Spalletti was expected to name his 26-man squad list for the tournament on June 6.
Players will return to their homes today and go back to Coverciano on June 7. Italy will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last international friendly before Euro 2024 at the Stadio Castellani Computergross Arena in Empoli on June 9.
