Italy will begin their EURO 2024 campaign against Albania in Dortmund on June 15, then face Spain in Gelsenkirchen and finally Croatia in Leipzig on June 24.
The draw was performed for the tournament in Hamburg this evening and placed the Azzurri in an extraordinarily difficult group.
Despite their status as reigning Champions of Europe for winning the EURO 2020 trophy, they were only placed in Pot 4 due to poor results in the qualifying campaign, scraping through in second place behind England thanks to a superior head-to-head record with Ukraine.
The fixtures have also been drawn up and Luciano Spallettiโs men begin their tournament in Dortmund on June 15 against Albania.
Their toughest game is likely to be the second with Spain in Gelsenkirchen on June 20.
It will likely all go down to the wire against Croatia on June 24, a fixture that will be played in Leipzig.
Germany are the host nation for the EURO 2024 competition, which runs from June 14 to July 14.
This group is more like a “Mediterranean Championship”.
It could have been worse. Italy never almost never beats Spain, but a draw is not entirely impossible.
Come to think of it, Italy usually doesn’t do good against Croatia either…We’ll see!

Croatia is not a good team right now. Spain is missing their best player and their strikers are worse than Italys. I am calling it now Italy is going to beat Albania, Spain and draw against Croatia. Italy Finishing 1st in their group. If they finish 1st they would have the easier side of the draw.

Italy got lucky (for a change) getting to play Albania first. This will put us in a good position to advance. Remember they changed the rules, 3 teams advance from the group stage. I have a good feeling tho for some reason. I think this team will be in better form next year—if our best strikers can stay healthy. Ahummm, Chiesa!!!!!!!
They need to also integrate Casedei , Baldanzi and Pafundi . Stop being afraid to play young players . They made under 20 final , surely they can be on a plane to Germany .
