Spain were held to a 0-0 draw by Sweden at Seville’s Estadio La Cartuja in their debut game of Euro 2020.

Juventus forward Alvaro Morata had the best opportunity of the game, but his side-foot shot from inside the box in the first half was wide of the far post.

Albin Ekdal was another familiar face for Serie A fans and started the game in midfield for a Sweden side without the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and Mattias Svanberg who tested positive for COVID.

It was the second game of Group E after Slovakia’s 2-1 win over Poland.

Serie A players had taken centre stage earlier in Saint Petersburg with goals from Karol Linetty and Milan Skriniar and a Wojciech Szczesny own goal.
