Both have won all four of their games so far at the tournament, although the Azzurri did require extra time to beat Austria 2-1 in the Round of 16.

Between them, these sides have conceded just two goals at EURO 2020 and have arguably been the best performers in the competition.

There were doubts going into the game for Italy, as Roberto Mancini had to choose between Federico Chiesa or Domenico Berardi in the trident attack, with Giorgio Chiellini fit again to replace Francesco Acerbi in defence.

The two Juventus players get the nod here, Chiesa getting his first start after scoring off the bench in the 2-1 victory over Austria.

Chiellini returns after limping off with a muscular issue during the 3-0 win over Switzerland, missing the last two matches.

The rest remains unchanged, with Marco Verratti again chosen in a midfield with Jorginho and Nicolò Barella, while Giovanni Di Lorenzo stands in for not fully fit Alessandro Florenzi.

Belgium had some huge injury doubts going in, as Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard both picked up problems during the 1-0 Round of 16 victory over Portugal.

De Bruyne had a knock to the ankle and has fully recovered to start, while Hazard is out with a muscular issue and replaced not by Yannick Carrasco, but 19-year-old Rennes striker Jeremy Doku in a 3-4-3 formation.

Inter hitman Lukaku leads the attack, with Thorgan Hazard in midfield, and Napoli forward Dries Mertens on the bench.

These nations have crossed paths six times in major competition, most recently with Italy’s 2-0 victory in the Euro 2016 group phase.

The one and only competitive Belgium victory was 2-1 in Brussels, the Euro 1972 quarter-final, which was played over two legs.

Italy have said they will take the knee before kick-off if Belgium request it in an anti-racism gesture.
