Spain forward Mikel Oyarzabal scored the decisive penalty against Switzerland and has warned ‘they can beat anyone’ ahead of the semi-final against Italy.
La Furia Roja are through to the semi-finals of EURO 2020 after two big wins over Croatia and Switzerland in the knockout stages.
The 24-year-old spoke at a press conference ahead of the clash with Italy on Tuesday and said Spain ‘just have to trust our idea of football’.
“If we play as we know, we can beat anyone” Oyarzabal said. “We just have to trust our idea of football.
“Italy have great players and it will be a very complicated game, they have shown their level and we know they are in a great moment. But the same goes for us.”
The Real Sociedad forward has made a big impact for Spain this summer, as he scored in the extra time against Croatia, before converting the decisive penalty in a shootout against the Swiss last time.
“We study goalkeepers and penalty shooters,” he said. “We have worked on penalties these days and surely the others will have done the same.
“It’s not a lottery, there’s a lot of work behind it.”
