The Italian Government today confirmed in writing that it will commit to having at least 25 per cent capacity at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the four Euro 2020 games.
That includes the opening ceremony and Italy v Turkey on June 11.

That includes the opening ceremony and Italy v Turkey on June 11.
“This result isn’t just for football, but all of Italian sport,” Vezzali told news agency ANSA.
“It’s not opening a stadium, but a symbolic moment. It is the light at the end of the tunnel. We hope that June 11 can be the culminating moment of a process of rebirth for the entire sporting movement.
“We are also working to reopen sport, which is the sixth Italian industry. The gyms, swimming pools and all sporting centres are crucial for the mental and physical health of Italians.”
While in England they have committed to opening up the stadiums for fans in mid-May, the pandemic situation in Italy is not at the same level.
The roll-out of the vaccine has been slower and also focused on targeting certain employment sectors rather than age groups.
Over the last 24 hours, there were another 476 deaths in Italy.
