UEFA has confirmed that Italy will be in Pot 1 for the Euro 2020 qualifying phase.
Italy’s return of five points from four Nations League games in League A saw them run out as the eighth-best team in the overall ranking.
Consequently, they have edged out Germany and Iceland to make up the 10 sides in Pot 1, alongside Belgium, France, Spain, Croatia and Poland.
Switzerland, Portugal, Netherlands and England are in their own Nations League pot after winning their respective groups.

The quartet are already assured of a playoff spot and will be drawn the first position in Groups A–D to ensure they each have two dates free to play the Nations League Finals in June.
The former also applies to the group winners in Leagues B, C and D, namely Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ukraine, Denmark, Sweden, Scotland, Norway, Serbia, Finland, Georgia, FYR Macedonia, Kosovo and Belarus.
Italy and the five other nations in Pot 1 will be drawn into the first position in Groups E-J, meaning they cannot face a Nations League finalist.
However, the Azzurri could still be paired with old enemy Germany or Sweden, who eliminated them from the 2018 World Cup playoffs.
