Italy continue to chalk up records at UEFA EURO 2020, becoming the first side to win 15 consecutive competitive European matches and the fourth to win five tournament fixtures in a row.

The Azzurri beat Belgium 2-1 to book their spot against Spain in the semi-final, which is scheduled for Tuesday at Wembley Stadium.

This was their 15th consecutive win in a row for European competition, between qualifiers for the Euros, Nations League and EURO 2020.

This allows Italy to beat the all-time record of 14 set by Germany under Joachim Löw, a run that by the way was ended by a defeat to the Azzurri in the semi-final of EURO 2012.

Italy have also now won five European Championship games on the bounce, something previously achieved only by France in the 1984 tournament, the Netherlands from 1988 to 1992, and the Czech Republic over the 2000 and 2004 editions.

They’ve achieved it by being very prolific in front of goal, scoring 11 times in EURO 2020, their highest-scoring competition since 12 in the 2006 World Cup.
