Italy were one of the first teams to reach the quarter-finals and the whole schedule is now completed with England and Ukraine advancing to the next round.

The round of 16 was closed with Ukraine striker Artem Dovbyk’s goal in the 121st minute of the game against Sweden on Tuesday.

Andriy Shevchenko’s men needed extra time against 10-man Sweden, who rattled the woodworks twice through Emil Forsberg.

England qualified with a historic 2-0 win over Germany at Wembley, as Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane scored the goals and then secured a place in the quarter-finals against Ukraine.

Italy have already started preparing for their meeting with Belgium on Friday, as the twists and turns continued between the eight best teams at the Euros.

France have left the competition after losing to Switzerland on penalties, whilst Germany and Portugal are the two other expected protagonists who have waved goodbye to the EURO 2020 dream.

Atalanta have five different goalscorers in the competition so far this summer and Serie A has equalled the Premier League’s record of 30 goals from players in the respective competitions during the Euros.

Some of the big names have fallen among the last 16, but Italy’s journey continues on Friday.
