Giorgio Chiellini is training with the first team and increasingly likely to start for Italy against Belgium on Friday.

The UEFA EURO 2020 quarter-final kicks off in Munich on Friday at 20.00 UK time.

The veteran defender limped off during the 3-0 win over Switzerland on June 16 and was not even on the bench for the victories against Wales and Austria.

He is now back in training with the first team and was spotted this afternoon with a bib on, suggesting he is working as part of the starting XI.

Alessandro Florenzi has also resumed training with the team after an initial warm-up separately, the first time in over two weeks, so once again the right-back spot will be between Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Rafael Toloi.

The other doubts are between Marco Verratti, Nicolò Barella, Matteo Pessina and Manuel Locatelli, while Federico Chiesa is pushing Domenico Berardi for a place in the trident attack.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Roberto Mancini is likely to field the same XI we saw against Austria, only with Chiellini coming in for Francesco Acerbi.

That would see Chiesa and Pessina again coming off the bench to provide fresh legs later in the game.
