Euro 2020 champions Italy will face off against Copa America winners Argentina in London next July.

The match has been scheduled for July 1 next year and will take place at a stadium in London, which is likely to be Wembley Stadium, the same place that saw the Azzurri beat England after a tense penalty shoot-out in the summer.

UEFA announced today that they have signed a “renewed and extended Memorandum of Understanding” with CONMEBOL, which looks to grow the relationship between South American and European football and will last until 2028.

The two organisations will also share an office in London, which will be opened in the early stages of next year, where they can work to organise a variety of football events together.

The match between Italy and Argentina has been nicknamed the ‘Finalissima’ and was widely requested by fans following the conclusion of the two tournaments earlier this year.

Other parts of the Memorandum of Understanding focus on education, development of grassroots football, safety and security, promotion of ethical practices and the organisation of competitions.

  2. I agree, game should be played in Naples. 2 my favorite NT’s, vamos Argentina and forza Italia.

  3. Umm big issue if Italy aren’t in the WC but game should definitely be played in Napoli – no business this being in London. Period.
