Crotone needed penalties to get the better of Brescia after a twisting 2-2 draw and will face Udinese in the Second Round of the Coppa Italia.

The Squali had taken the lead through Milos Vulic, but Pippo Inzaghi’s Brescia turned it around through Tom van de Looi and Riad Bajic.

Simone Mulattieri found the net on his debut after the loan switch from Inter, forcing extra time.

Marko Pajac was shown a straight red card for Brescia in the final minute after a reckless sliding tackle with studs up.

It went to penalties and Crotone emerged the winners, with Stefano Moreo and Emanuele Ndoj errors from the spot.
