Caner Erkin admits he “honestly didn’t understand” Frank de Boer’s attitude toward him at Inter.
The Turkish defender joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer in the summer, but the Dutchman quickly decided that there was no place for him, and the 28-year-old joined Besiktas.
“[Roberto] Mancini wanted me and I was happy to move to Milan,” Erkin recalled, speaking to Milliyet.

“[Roberto] Mancini wanted me and I was happy to move to Milan,” Erkin recalled, speaking to Milliyet.
“Then De Boer came and I honestly didn’t understand him. He didn’t know any of us, he didn’t speak to me for three or four days and then he told me that he couldn’t count on me, without any explanation.
“It didn’t seem like I should stay in that situation, so I began negotiations to go to another club. I finally got to Besiktas, and I want to stay with this club which will grow in the coming years.”
De Boer didn't last much longer at Inter, with the former defender sacked after 85 days following seven defeats in his 14 games.
